This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to celebrate Stella Li, Store Manager of our SYD Top Ryde City store. Stella joined UGG Express in 2022 and has spent nearly four years growing with the brand — balancing leadership, teamwork and motherhood with strength and warmth.

A Day in Stella’s Life: Mum First, Leader Always

As both a store manager and a mum, Stella’s days are full but purposeful. Mornings begin with school drop-offs before heading into a busy day at the store. Evenings are reserved for family time — dinner, homework and winding down together.

“These are my two most important roles,” Stella says. “Both matter.”

Work–Life Balance, Redefined

For Stella, work–life balance isn’t about perfection.

“It’s something I’m always adjusting,” she explains. “Like a scale, it shifts at different stages of life, and that’s okay. Balance is something the whole family works towards together.”

A Moment She’s Most Proud Of

When asked about her proudest moment at UGG Express, Stella doesn’t hesitate.

“The team at SYD Top Ryde City.”

Since opening in May last year, the store has grown a loyal customer base, built on warm service, professionalism and a welcoming in-store environment.

“I’m incredibly proud of this team,” she says. “They’re kind, resilient and supportive, and they’re the reason our store continues to grow.”

Motherhood’s Influence on Leadership

Motherhood has deeply shaped Stella’s leadership style.

Leading a team of young, creative individuals, she often draws on the same communication skills she uses as a parent - offering encouragement, gentle reminders, thoughtful guidance, patience and active listening.

“I’ve learned when to speak, when to act, and when to step back and let people grow,” she explains.

“Leadership is about guidance, trust and helping people grow,” Stella says. “That’s how we nurture progress.”

Stella’s Message to Other Mums

“Don’t give up on challenges, and don’t be too hard on yourself.”

We are mums, but we are also ourselves,” she says. “When we pursue growth, our children learn how to face challenges too.”

She encourages mums to try when opportunities arise, without boxing themselves into “work first” or “family first” labels, and without guilt when balance feels off.

“Rest when you’re tired. Step away when you’re overwhelmed. That’s how you come back stronger.”
